Why Was Sting 2024 Cancelled? Reggae Sting Cancelled After Ticket Sales
Sting was set to take place today, December 26th, at the JamWorld complex in Portmore, Jamaica. The notice of Sting’s cancellation was posted on Reggae Sting’s official page, sparking discussion around the cause.
According to the Observer, a late payment pushed the event’s stage production and equipment company to pull out at the last moment. The event’s promoter Supreme Productions Ltd stated that although payment was sent, it was not received in time due to delays in processing during the holidays. Many are speculating that low ticket sales may have played a part, as Vybz Kartel prepares for his ‘Freedom Street’ concert just five days later.
This year’s performance was set to feature established acts like Tommy Lee Sparta and Pablo YG. Additionally, artists like Skippa, Jamal, and Rymey Gad were also set to make Sting debuts. The show has never been cancelled or postponed in its 40 year history.
