Vybz Kartel Teases New ‘Str8 Vybz’ Rum Brand

Vybz Kartel’s latest business venture is a rum brand named Str8 Vybz, launching this fall. The Portmore, Jamaica artist is wasting no time getting to business after his release from thirteen years in prison.

In addition to Str8 Vybz Rum, “World Boss” is also launching Fire Vybz this fall, which will retail a grabba tobacco product. Since his release, he has also worked with the Prime Minster of Saint Vincent, appeared as a guest judge on Digicel’s Rising Stars, and released songs like The Comet.

Str8 Vybz rum is not Vybz Kartel’s first venture into the spirits industry. His first brand actually had a similar name: Street Vybz Rum; which was launched in 2008 with popular entertainment promoter Corey Todd. After Street Vybz was shut down in 2011 due to a dust up between Kartel and Todd, they attempted to resurrect the brand in 2012, but failed again. In 2016, Vybz Kartel also launched Gaza Vybz Rum with his associate Jeffrey Hype of Portmore Empire. This brand has also since faded away.
