Spice Makes Billboard Reggae Albums Chart Re-Entry at #8 with ’10’: The Dancehall Queen’s Reign Continues

Spice, the queen of dancehall, has re-entered the Billboard charts with her 2021 debut album, ’10’. The album landed at #8 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. This is especially impressive considering the album was initially released four years ago! In a male dominated space, Spice stands out as the sole female artist currently holding a spot on the chart, further cementing her iconic status in dancehall music.

’10’ was initially released with VP Records on August 6, 2021, after being delayed a year due to the pandemic. The album, executive produced by Shaggy, showcases Spice’s versatility and undeniable talent. If you remember, “Go Dung Deh” was the lead single, featuring Shaggy and Sean Paul. Now, years later, its resurgence speaks volumes about its enduring appeal and Spice’s lasting impact on the reggae and dancehall landscape.

This isn’t Spice’s first time on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. It marks her fifth entry, solidifying her position as a consistent force. Spice’s journey hasn’t always been easy. The dancehall scene, like many music genres, has historically been a tough space for women to navigate. But Spice has consistently defied expectations and carved her own path with unapologetic authenticity. Spice has released three studio albums to date.

The re-entry of ’10’ is a symbol of Spice’s resilience and the unwavering support of her loyal fanbase in Jamaica and abroad, the “Besties.” Spice’s reign as a dancehall icon is far from over. Spice is here to stay, and she’s ready to continue making her mark on the world.
